ChristianaCare is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician to provide clinical leadership and comprehensive addiction treatment services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based addiction medicine care for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring medical conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Serve as a clinical leader for Addiction Medicine Services, supporting program operations, quality initiatives, and strategic growth.
  • Partner with Primary Care teams through a Collaborative Care Model to improve access to addiction treatment and integrated whole-person care.
  • Provide consultation and clinical coverage for inpatient Addiction Medicine services, including withdrawal management and initiation of medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders (MOUD/MAUD).
  • Support the continued growth of the Low Barrier Addiction Clinic (LBAC), expanding same-day access and rapid treatment initiation.
  • Collaborate with Behavioral Health, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Primary Care, and community partners to enhance care coordination and recovery support services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community treatment providers, recovery organizations, and referral partners.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and operational performance to improve patient access, quality, and experience.
  • Participate in academic and teaching activities, including the supervision of trainees and support of Addiction Medicine Fellowship programs.

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified and fellowship trained in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry required.
  • Eligible for license in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and other applicable states.

Location

Pay

Annual compensation range: $257,751.00 - $380,035.00. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as relevant experience, education, training, credentials, and fair market value for physician services in the specialty.
