Position Purpose
Participate as a team member in the delivery of substance-use disorder services to clients and their families. Facilitate the issues of recovery into client’s daily living situations.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field
- Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC), or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC which supersedes the CADC within 2 years of employment in substance used disorder services
- Must qualify as an MHP per Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132; LPHA preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer proficiency required
- Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the prescribed time frames
- Skilled in conducting individual, family and group counseling
- Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance
Essential Responsibilities
- Work hours prescribed by leadership and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
- Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
- Complete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within required time frame.
- Identify client clinical and case management needs and work to address those needs.
- Educate client and client support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
- Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
- Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. admissions, case management and discharge plans).
- Absorb on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
- Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, and staff and community groups.
- Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
- Serve as a member of the team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
- As assigned, perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing and related quality control activities in accordance with CLIA requirements, manufacturer instructions, infection control protocols, and organizational procedures.
Schedule
Tuesday-Saturday 8:30-5pm with one late night.
