ADDED DUTY CONTRACT: Basketball Boys Head Coach

Overview of the Position

The coach will implement a coaching philosophy promoting school athletics and activities. Responsibilities include training athletes, preparing them for competition, managing the program, enforcing discipline, nurturing student needs, and modeling sportsmanship.

Certification Requirements

• Show documentation of Mandatory Trainings on or before the first contract day.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Communicate with athletes, parents, and administrators.
• Set an example through living by a high code of conduct.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Adhere to NSBSD and ASAA policies and guidelines.
• Follow the National Federation of State High School Associations Coach's Code of Ethics.
• Review and update the Coaches' and Parent and Student Handbooks annually.
• Hold scheduled practices during the regular and post-season.
• Complete athlete education following ASAA and NSBSD TAD and Concussion Policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of NSBSD athletic participation and parental consent forms.
• Manage equipment and uniforms, maintain a first aid kit, handle injuries, and complete injury report forms.
• Assist in pre-game activities and provide supervision of athletes.
• Create an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and assist visiting teams, coaches, and officials.
• Provide a list of students playing and/or traveling 8 days prior to the scheduled activity.
• Turn in inventories, store equipment, and complete the end-of-season checkout and questionnaire.
• Submit an Activity Report and attach photos if applicable.

Compensation

Compensation is per negotiated agreement and based on meeting the responsibilities outlined.

Requirements

• A high school graduate or equivalent required.
• Pass a background check.
• An AK driver's license is preferred.
