About the Role

Client is seeking a qualified test engineer for the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Validation department at the Chelsea Proving Ground (CPG) Facility. The Vehicle Validation engineer will be responsible for executing test procedures to validate ADAS performance on Client and competitive benchmark vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with driving vehicles, collecting and processing data, and compiling results
• Install instrumentation, remove camouflage, and perform other hands-on vehicle tasks
• Understand vehicle EE CAN communication and use CDA/Diagnostic tools
• Perform vehicle electrical troubleshooting, including connecting to vehicles, clearing faults, and resetting/flashing modules
• Work with data acquisition systems (analog and digital data filtering and logging) and post-processing tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW)
• Support 1st and 2nd shifts

Requirements

• Able to work independently and in a team
• Hands-on experience driving vehicles, clean driving record, and ability to obtain heavy truck certifications (e.g., CDL)
• Familiarity with ADAS features from a driver/customer perspective

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle electrical troubleshooting
• Experience with data acquisition systems and post-processing tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of ADAS or Automotive Engineering work experience
• Working knowledge of vehicle CAN (Canalyzer or other CAN tools)
• Vehicle testing experience
• Experience completing DVP&R and following test procedures
• Experience with Ground Truth instrumentation (e.g., cameras, dGPS systems)
• Proving Grounds facilities experience
• Experience working with mechanics/technicians
• Basics of statistical analysis
• Experience writing test procedures and DVP&Rs
• Trailer towing experience
