About the role

The Adaptive Programming Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of adaptive programs for children and adults with disabilities. This position works closely with branch leadership and the Senior Association Director of Adaptive Programming to ensure high-quality, inclusive programming that meets the unique needs of participants.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate adaptive programs that serve children and adults with disabilities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for families, responding to inquiries, providing program information, and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Association Director of Adaptive Programming to align program goals and initiatives with branch objectives.
  • Foster and sustain mutually beneficial community partnerships.
  • Support partnerships with various community organizations, including schools, and other agencies, and key stakeholders to enhance adaptive programming offerings.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and management of staff and volunteers for adaptive programming and related events.
  • Maintain accurate records, including participant registration, attendance, and incident reports.
  • Develop programming materials in collaboration with behavior specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly in program development or recreational settings.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other programs as needed.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with integrity, discretion, and a professional approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, showcasing an understanding of cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in multitasking and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to address challenges and make strategic decisions.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
