About the role

The Associate Director of Actuarial Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. You will establish metrics, provide data analyses, and work directly to support business intelligence. This role evaluates industry, economic, financial, operational, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position.

The Associate Director reports to the Director of Actuarial Analytics/Forecasting and oversees, develops, and communicates results of complex models and analytics in support of primary care organization reserve development. Responsibilities include ensuring data integrity through effective controls and processes, partnering with stakeholders to solve business challenges, performing root cause analysis of trend and restatement drivers, and developing cost-effective solutions to complex operational and technical problems. This position leads a team of specialized actuarial and analytics professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and forecast financial, economic, and other data for strategic and operational decisions.
  • Establish metrics and provide data analyses to support business intelligence.
  • Evaluate industry, economic, financial, operational, and market trends to forecast the organization’s financial and competitive position.
  • Oversee and develop complex models and analytics for reserve development.
  • Ensure data integrity through effective controls and processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to solve business challenges.
  • Perform root cause analysis of trend and restatement drivers.
  • Develop cost-effective solutions to complex operational and technical problems.
  • Lead a team of specialized actuarial and analytics professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • FSA or ASA designation plus relevant advanced degree, extensive work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations.
  • MAAA membership.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms.
  • Experience in more than three actuarial functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving, or trending) and more than one product.

Additional Information

This is a remote position. Work-at-home requirements include a self-provided internet service with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps (wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested). Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work must be performed in a dedicated space free from ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.

Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay

The pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $156,600 - $215,400 per year. The range may vary based on geographic location, and individual pay will depend on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications. This role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
