Core Functions
- Performs all exams by following and verifying referring providers’ orders.
- Adheres to established protocols and provides all pertinent patient information utilized by Radiologist for complete dictation.
- Uses independent judgement and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures for all ultrasound exams.
- Scanning competencies should include, at a minimum, all patient ages, acuity levels and classes, independently and without quality issues.
- Performs ultrasound guided procedures and works closely with radiologist or provider.
- Educates patients and families about procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
- Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions.
- Fosters teamwork, ensures efficient use of resources and advocates for quality patient outcomes.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
- Performs troubleshooting as needed and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.
- Adheres to safety policies.
- Ensures imaging areas and equipment are in a constant state of "Ready."
- Maintains proficiency and competencies signed off for all studies related to certification(s).
- Performs high quality imaging and in accordance with training received.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires national certification in one area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- BLS certification required.
- Successful completion of education and competencies via a clinical rotation with sign-off.
- This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved by 0-3 years of experience.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, ability to analyze data and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Estimated Pay Range
Estimated Pay Range: $37.14 - $61.90 / hour
