About the role

As an Acute Radiology Technologist PRN, you will perform x-rays and educate patients in a busy hospital setting. This is an opportunity to join a supportive, teamwork-oriented department focused on providing an excellent patient experience while making a positive impact in your community. PRN shifts are varied, working 12-hour shifts to help cover sick and vacation time.

Banner Wyoming Medical Center is located in Casper, Wyoming, and is the state's largest inpatient facility, known for its cardiac and stroke services. With 249 beds and a Level 2 trauma center, it serves the entire state of Wyoming.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines, using independent judgment and established methodologies.
• Educates patients and families regarding procedures, risks, and prevention.
• Demonstrates professional behavior and fosters teamwork to ensure efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares/presents them with pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
• Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
• Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements, troubleshoots issues, and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors, adhering to safety policies.
• Accountable for ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice, including maintaining confidentiality.
• Ensures efficient department workflow by performing other duties as assigned.
• Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure non-interruption of services.
• Independently performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies and protocols.

Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

External customers: Regulatory and health agencies, patients, and family members.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program.
• National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensure by the state regulatory agency, if applicable.
• BLS certification required.
• Clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1 year of experience.
• Effective communication skills, human relations skills, and the ability to analyze data and solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional related education and/or experience.
