Acute Medicine Registered Nurse (FT Nights)

About the role

The 25-bed acute care medicine unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (South Campus) is seeking a full-time night shift registered nurse. This position offers 12-hour shifts with a 4/5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio and every third weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on managing illnesses or injuries, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engages in professional development activities.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual patient care plans collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and patients, families, or caregivers.
• Proactively plans and communicates patient care plans across the healthcare continuum.
• Accurately assesses and evaluates physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs according to established standards of care.
• Identifies and addresses patient preferences and barriers to care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• No prior experience required.
