About the role
This position will assist with various duties within the hospital setting to aid in patient experience, throughput, and optimizing the efficiency of the licensed care givers in the delivery of care. This position may be utilized as a float Care Aide in Acute Services Division, including Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows, and Renown Rehabilitation in the units where competencies are assessed and demonstrated.
Responsibilities
- Aid patients with personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and provide comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients as directed by the care team in a timely and consistent manner.
- Stock unit supplies.
- Mobility of patients.
- Hourly patient rounding.
- Responding to call lights.
- Ensuring patients have appropriate belongings, etc., and are ready for discharge.
- Transporting of supplies, etc.
- Transporting patients.
- Extenders for care givers within scope.
- Act as a patient safety assistant.
- Delivery and set up of meal trays.
- Assistance with feeding patients in compliance with the patient’s dietary orders.
- Assistance with activities of daily living (hand hygiene, brushing teeth, getting dressed, toileting, etc.).
- Document care in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- Patient / healthcare related experience preferred.
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing or healthcare related program or graduate from a healthcare related program preferred.
- Knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Current AHA BLS course within 30 days of hire.

- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
