About the role

Provides operational and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care during assigned shifts. Serves as the frontline leader and supervisor for all nursing personnel on the unit, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, coordinates, and directs nurses in administrative tasks.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, family or significant others, providers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Displays critical thinking skills and enthusiasm regarding the work day experience.
  • Understands and has a profound knowledge of all the medications and equipment in the department.
  • Captures and coordinates multiple tasks based on priorities.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice and supports staff development.
  • Partners with the unit director and interdisciplinary leaders to achieve departmental goals, support organizational strategic initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in quality, patient experience, staff engagement, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years acute care hospital experience as RN required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in clinical area required; 2 or more years preferred.
  • Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Current unencumbered Idaho or Compact Agreement State RN license.

  • Interpersonal skills complimentary to communicating with patients, family or significant others, providers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Exhibit critical thinking skills and enthusiasm regarding the work day experience.
  • Understand and have a profound knowledge of all the medications and equipment in the department.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks based on priorities.
  • Meet all required education, training, skills, and qualifications of the Med/Surg/ICU RN.
