Acute Care Surgery- Full Time PA/NP
About the role
Join a highly respected team of Acute Care Surgeons supporting a busy Level I Trauma Center in Macon, Georgia. This is an exciting opportunity for a PA or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to work alongside experienced surgeons and advanced practice providers in a fast-paced inpatient environment focused on delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient care for General Surgery and Trauma Surgery patients
- Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care
- Participate in daily rounding and multidisciplinary care discussions
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
- Manage patient admissions, consults, and follow-up care as appropriate
- Ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care and documentation
Requirements
- Certified as a PA or Nurse Practitioner with acute care certification
- Be eligible for or possess Georgia licensure
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Possess a passion for trauma and acute care surgery
Qualifications
Full-time, inpatient APP position
Monday – Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
No nights, weekends, or call responsibilities
Average patient census of approximately 15 patients per day
Collaborative team-based practice with experienced surgeons and APPs
Opportunity to manage complex surgical and trauma patients
Work within a premier Level I Trauma Center
