Acute Care RN - Pavilion Medical - All Shifts

About the role

A medical/surgical nurse provides care for patients across the lifespan with physical, emotional, or psychological health alterations in various settings. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans to promote health and wellness.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes assessment data to identify actual or potential patient issues.
• Develops and implements a collaborative plan to achieve expected outcomes.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Applies Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring to foster caring relationships and promote patient-centered care.
• Mentors new nurses and supports student nurses.
• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Participates in process evolution and utilizes evidence-based practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate from ONS (optional but preferred).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the nursing process and its application to patient care.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to medication administration and equipment calibration.
• Competency in psychomotor skills necessary for patient care.
• Sensitivity to patient rights and safety issues.
• Adherence to legal and ethical standards in patient care.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule is variable, with shifts typically lasting 12 hours. The exact schedule will be determined during the onboarding process.
