Acute Care Radiology Technologist - Radiology Diagnostic - FT - Night
About the role
Performs radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors, and adjusts equipment controls.
- Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
- Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
- Operates mobile radiologic equipment in various locations.
- Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
- Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
- Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Performs office work including answering phone, obtaining information from computer, and ordering departmental supplies.
- Provides a positive image to customers by creating a friendly atmosphere and placing a high priority on meeting customer needs.
- Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
- Affords assistance to students and/or new staff.
- Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
Requirements
- Two years’ experience in hospital/clinic.
- Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA Kansas License required within 60 days of hire.
- Registered Technologist - ARRT Required.
- Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Two years’ experience in hospital/clinic.
