Acute Care Physical Therapist PRN FLT

Responsibilities

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Performs a comprehensive evaluation on each assigned patient, within established time frames, considering the patient's age, diagnosis, prior level of function and living situation.
• Establishes a treatment plan for each patient which includes measurable goals and revises these goals as necessary for individual patients.
• Counsels patients and families on home exercise programs, activities of daily living, and self-care techniques.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices such as orthotics, mobility aids and tools based on patient needs.
• Teaches patients/family skills and techniques to meet the comprehension level of the patients/family.
• Maintains appropriate documentation of patient status summarizing treatments rendered and patient response.
• Maintains communication with physicians, via verbal and written reports, regarding patient progress and specific needs.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature and in-service meetings.
• Attends meeting as required.
• Serves as Clinical Instructor for Physical Therapy/Therapy Assistant Students under the leadership of the CCCE.
• Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides appropriately.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved professional program in Physical Therapy.
• Experience: Sufficient prior clinical experience in Physical therapy.
• Special Skills: Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.
• Licenses: Registration and current licensure in Mississippi.
