Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – General Cardiology – Weekend Only
Role Overview
An Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, is sought to join the General Cardiology team at a new medical center. The role involves delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care, including history-taking, physical exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient education. Collaboration with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams is essential to manage conditions like hypertension, heart failure, and arrhythmias, with responsibilities covering hospital rounds, follow-ups, discharge planning, and preventive care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current Georgia licensure or eligibility as an NP or PA
- Board certification as an NP (AGACNP) or PA-C
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 1 year cardiology or inpatient APP experience preferred
- Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
Key Duties
- Provide adult inpatient and outpatient cardiac care
- Perform assessments, diagnostics, and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians and teams for patient management
- Educate patients and families about cardiac health
- Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions
