About the role

Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As a medical provider that is not a physician but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under protocol with a physician(s), the Nurse Practitioner assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The Nurse Practitioner is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities. Works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of physician(s) under protocol(s).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct medical care to BMT and Cellular Immunotherapy patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Manages medically complex patients with co-morbidities
• Aids physicians with evaluation, management, and treatment planning
• Formulates differential diagnoses based on clinical data
• Develops treatment plans within scope of practice
• Prescribes oral and IV medications as appropriate
• Performs minor procedures within scope of practice
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one)
• National certification by the appropriate accreditation body
• Active BLS and ACLS (must be AHA approved)
• Experience in oncology or general internal medicine; previous BMT experience preferred

$128,666.20 - $196,144.00
