Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist - Pediatrics

About the role

The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing and monitoring evidence-based care plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pharmaceutical care in designated patient care areas.
• Interpret and clarify physicians' medication orders, review medication profiles, and monitor for contraindications and interactions.
• Recommend formulary alternatives based on clinical parameters.
• Consult with medical staff on drug therapy issues and review lab results.
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and discharge medication consultations.
• Participate in rounds, calculate dosages, verify orders, and prepare sterile or compounded medications.
• Manage supplies, supervise pharmacy staff and interns, and coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure quality service.
• Assist with policy review and maintain departmental standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required; a Doctoral Degree is preferred. Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication, teamwork, and supervisory skills are essential. Work is performed in a clinical environment, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
