Operating more than 90 sites across San Diego County, FHCSD serves over 227,000 patients annually, with 91% being low-income and 29% uninsured. Services include adult care, chronic disease management, pediatrics, comprehensive women's care, dental, vision, case management, physical rehabilitation, speech therapy, infectious diseases, behavioral health, substance use counseling, and a variety of specialty services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand medical history, current health concerns, and treatment goals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs, incorporating acupuncture techniques and other traditional Chinese medicine modalities.
• Perform acupuncture treatments using sterile needles, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate patients' progress throughout the treatment process, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide patient education and guidance on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and self-care practices to support overall well-being.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and billing information.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and alternative medicine practitioners, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated on the latest research, developments, and advancements in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, integrating evidence-based practices into your treatments.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, ensuring compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and clinic policies.
• Participate in professional development activities, including continuing education, workshops, and conferences, to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Requirements

• California State licensure as an Acupuncturist required.
• Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Licensed Acupuncturist required.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in performing acupuncture treatments, with a strong understanding of traditional Chinese medicine principles and techniques.
• Excellent communication skills to establish rapport with patients, listen to their concerns, and provide clear explanations of treatment plans.
• Strong diagnostic abilities to assess patients' conditions accurately and develop appropriate treatment strategies.
• Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended.
• An acceptable driving record is also required.
