The Role at a Glance
Join a high-performing actuarial team at the forefront of Variable Annuity (VA) and Registered Index-Linked Annuity (RILA) valuation. In this role, you’ll take ownership of critical production processes, drive innovation in valuation modeling, and partner with leaders across the organization to deliver insights that shape strategic and financial decisions.
What you'll be doing
Own and Elevate Valuation Processes
- Lead the end-to-end production of monthly statutory reserves and capital results under VM-21, supporting both financial reporting and hedging programs
- Serve as the subject matter expert and owner of the RILA production process and valuation model
Partner Across the Business
- Collaborate closely with Model Development to review, validate, and implement quarterly model enhancements in GGY-AXIS
- Work with Capital Management and FP&A to analyze results and deliver clear, actionable insights into capital requirements
- Engage with stakeholders across Accounting, MRM, Pricing, ERM, Investments, Audit, and the Qualified Actuary team
Drive Innovation and Efficiency
- Enhance and expand automation using tools like Dataiku, Tableau, and Appian
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk, and improve reporting quality and transparency
Lead and Develop Talent
- Directly manage and mentor one team member, fostering growth and high performance
What we’re looking for
Experience: 8+ years of actuarial experience, with strong exposure to annuity products
Credentials: ASA required, FSA preferred
Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with GGY-AXIS modeling
Leadership Mindset: Proven ability to take ownership, drive results, and collaborate cross-functionally
Execution Excellence: Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to meet demanding reporting deadlines
Continuous Improvement: A proactive, self-starter approach with a passion for automation and modernization
