Actuary, Reserving - North America Specialty

About the role

The North America Specialty Reserving Lead will oversee the reserving process for North America Specialty, collaborating with senior management and other departments. Key responsibilities include managing the workflow of analysts, ensuring consistency in reserving approaches, and supporting the annual audit reviews.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day workflow of analysts on the team
• Coordinate and review the reserving process and results for North America Specialty
• Interact with and advise senior management on reserving matters
• Collaborate with North America and International reserving management to develop consistent and efficient processes globally
• Review and report upon reserves across North Specialty to relevant stakeholders
• Support the Global Specialty Reserving lead in managing the schedule of reserve reviews for all North America Specialty products
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place for the reserving process
• Develop efficient or improve existing processes for the management and presentation of reserving information across Global Specialty

Requirements

• BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• FIA or FCAS preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial lines
• Experience of reviewing and managing reserving processes
• Experience of setting reserves
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes
• Ability to work collaboratively across disparate stakeholders, respond and prioritize work effectively
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Benefits

Base salary range: $120,000-$165,000
Eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
