  • Build, maintain, and enhance pricing and financial projection models, improving structure, controls, documentation, automation, and repeatability.
  • Use tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, VBA, ALFA, MG-ALFA, or similar platforms to improve efficiency and insight.
  • Analyze mortality, lapse, expense, premium persistency, and distribution assumptions, assessing sensitivity, scenario, and stress results to identify key profitability drivers.
  • Develop defensible recommendations for assumption updates and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with Product Development, Distribution, Finance, Reinsurance, Compliance, and Valuation to evaluate new product opportunities, distribution strategies, and portfolio optimization options.
  • Translate complex actuarial analyses into practical business recommendations.
  • Support state filing work, actuarial memoranda, and regulatory responses, ensuring pricing decisions are well documented, controlled, and defensible.
  • Contribute to pricing governance, model risk management, and audit-ready documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance, annuities, or related financial services.
  • Strong understanding of insurance pricing fundamentals and financial projection concepts.
  • Experience building, validating, or improving actuarial models.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguous questions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical analyses to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with life insurance product development, pricing, or reinsurance.
  • Familiarity with state insurance filings, actuarial memoranda, and regulatory constraints.
  • Experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen controls, and create scalable modeling frameworks.
  • Technical capability with Excel, SQL, Power BI, VBA, Slope, or similar tools.
