Actuarial Intern - Milliman Property and Casualty Practices - Summer 2027 - remote, hybrid, or onsite

About the Role

Milliman’s Property & Casualty practices welcome motivated students to join us as Actuarial Interns for Summer 2027. Over 10–12 weeks, you’ll learn about the work we do by assisting with pricing and reserving analyses for our clients across various insurance products: personal and commercial auto, homeowners, mortgage, workers compensation, general liability, medical liability, and more.

All of our internships offer hands-on experience with real actuarial projects, networking and collaboration with experts, and professional skill development.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project teams on data analyses, create portions of client deliverables, and perform technical review (“checking”).
• Develop professional skills such as communication, task management, and presenting.
• Collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including senior consultants and principals.
• Receive mentorship and actionable feedback to support your career development.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and social events designed for our interns.
• Build strong technical skills in Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA, PowerBI, and other tools.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field, with at least one semester of school remaining.
• At least one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Experience with programming or statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, VBA) is a plus.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future (including international students).

Location

This posting represents opportunities based in various Milliman offices and business units within the U.S. Some roles may require onsite work, while others may be remote. Specific in-office requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

Pay

The overall hourly range for this role is $21 - $46. For candidates residing in Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia, the range is $23 - $46. For all other locations, the hourly range is $21 - $37. Compensation will be determined based on factors including education, actuarial exams passed, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, and certifications.
