About the role

This dynamic role supports the Financial Services, Property, and Equine lines of business, focusing on evaluating reserve adequacy, developing diagnostic tools, and providing actuarial expertise to senior leadership and business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Quarterly Reserve Reviews (and ad-hoc analysis) for assigned product groups to ensure adequate reserves are recorded and reported at each quarter-end.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements related to loss reserves are met in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Claims, and Underwriting on quarterly deep dive reviews for select reserve segments.
  • Develop and deliver analysis findings to senior leadership, highlighting key drivers of results to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure the company’s reserving SOX controls are appropriately applied and documented to maintain quality and accuracy.
  • Develop, monitor, and report monthly metrics to identify trends in claim emergence, using data visualization techniques where possible.
  • Provide actuarial subject matter expertise to support the implementation of a new financial accounting system.
  • Assist in the annual peer review of key assumptions and loss ratio analysis for the upcoming Plan.
  • Undertake other related duties as required by the Company.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated progress in understanding and applying basic actuarial principles.
  • Studying for CAS preliminary exams; may have 1-2 passed.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. (sponsorship not available).

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $75,000–$82,500, adjusted for geographic location and based on skills and experience.
