Entry-level actuarial analyst position providing actuarial support in the development and maintenance of the policy administration system.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of new and existing insurance products within the policy administration system.
- Apply actuarial knowledge to translate product designs, calculations, and requirements into accurate system functionality.
- Review and validate actuarial calculations, product specifications, rates, values, and other system outputs.
- Partner with actuarial, product, operations, and technology teams to define requirements and resolve system or product-related issues.
- Develop test scenarios, analyze results, and support user acceptance testing for product implementations and system changes.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions that maintain the accuracy and integrity of administered products.
- Maintain product documentation and support controls that help ensure system calculations remain consistent with approved product specifications.
- Build knowledge of Symetra products and administrative processes to support future product development and system enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- 0–2 years of actuarial, analytical, or related experience through internships, co-ops, or full-time employment.
- Experience supporting administration system development and maintenance is a strong plus.
- Progress toward actuarial credentials, with one or more actuarial exams passed preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience using Excel and working with data, spreadsheets, or databases to analyze and summarize information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings.
- Self-motivated learner who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a collaborative team environment.
- High school diploma required.

Pay
Hourly Range: $60,100 – $100,000 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs.
Employer work visa sponsorship and support are not provided for this role. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at hire and must maintain authorization throughout their employment.
