About the role

We’re looking for a talented Actuarial Analyst who is eager to revolutionize pet insurance. In this role, you’ll be managing rate levels, building advanced pricing tools, and bringing actuarial discipline to all facets of Lemonade Pet—working cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, product, engineering, and data science. You’ll leverage competitive data, machine learning, and data science to optimize our customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing. You’ll also help automate actuarial processes and develop innovative solutions that improve pricing decisions at scale.

We believe three things matter for every role at Lemonade: drive to push through challenges, efficiency that keeps standards high while moving fast, and adaptability that lets you pivot with data and AI insights. These aren't buzzwords, they're how we actually work. Our AI-first approach isn't just a tagline either. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.

  • Identify areas for pricing and underwriting action based on ongoing monitoring of results
  • Build tools and dashboards that automate pricing analyses and support business decision-making
  • Build a knowledge base of competitor rating strategies and the overall competitive landscape
  • Further your own actuarial education through SOA or CAS exams and industry research while applying those learnings on the job

Requirements

  • 2+ SOA or CAS actuarial exams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • General knowledge of data science programming languages such as R or Python (preferred), and proficiency in database query tools such as SQL
  • Prior pricing experience is a definite plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in an office environment 3 days per week in our Soho office
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying AI to improve workflows

*Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visas.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health & wellness coverage
  • Equity
  • 401(k) plan with employer match

  • Parental leave

Pay

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $97,500 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
