Position Summary

The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for organizing, analyzing, and investigating Healthmap Solutions data.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and organize healthcare data
  • Analyze data to assist in developing optimal care management and decision making
  • Use healthcare data to assist in administrative and operational goals
  • Investigate data to find patterns and trends
  • Utilize different data sources for analysis
  • Develop reports and presentations
  • Communicate analytics insights to management
  • Build Models and analyze data to unearth trends and patterns
  • Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns
  • Suggest ways to both increase healthcare quality and lower costs
  • Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance, Management information systems or other related focus
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of recent experience in:
    • Excel (Visualization, Pivot Tables, Summarizing)
    • Database manipulation in SQL (Updates, Joins, Data types)
    • Financial Analysis (Trending vs. Actual)
    • Working with Project Managers and Technical Groups
    • Prior experience with large data
    • Prior experience with healthcare data within health plan or vendor environment

Skills

  • Familiarity with Health Plan financial data, PMPM, Per Thousand, Enrollment
  • Operational analytical skills
  • Budget and forecasting skills
  • Detail oriented
