Actuarial Analyst
About the role
Great West, An Old Republic Company is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their team at their corporate headquarters in South Sioux City, Nebraska. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or early-career actuarial professionals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret insurance data to support pricing, reserving, and profitability initiatives.
- Perform actuarial analyses using statistical techniques and predictive modeling methods.
- Absorb and assist with rate filings, loss trend studies, and reserve analyses.
- Develop and maintain actuarial reports, models, and dashboards.
- Prepare presentations and reports for actuarial leadership and business stakeholders.
- Identify trends and opportunities through detailed data analysis.
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, claims, and other business areas to solve complex business problems.
- Support ongoing process improvement and automation efforts.
Requirements
Successful completion of two actuarial exams preferred. Interest in pursuing continued actuarial credentialing through the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with data analysis and programming tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with actuarial modeling and statistical concepts is preferred.
