Doctors Medical Center (DMC), part of the Central Valley Doctors Health System, is the largest full‑care hospital between Stockton and Fresno, and from the Sierras to the San Francisco Bay Area, with a 394‑bed general acute care and a 67‑bed inpatient psychiatric capacity. DMC is known for providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and emergency care, including cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, emergency and trauma services, minimally‑invasive and robotic surgery, women and children’s services, medical/surgical, behavioral health, oncology and critical/intensive care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate treatment groups.
• Assist in evaluating and/or assessing patients and their potential for participation in expressive arts therapy groups.
• Work closely with the Activity Therapist in coordinating activities appropriate to the therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma preferred; AA or Bachelor’s Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Movement/Dance Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or other appropriate discipline preferred.
• Minimum Experience/Skills: Entry level accepted; 1+ years experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility, psychiatric inpatient preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform groups and activities in other languages highly desirable.
• Required – Current Healthcare Provider BLS card.
• Required – Water‑safety certification per Stanislaus County Water Safety Regulations within 60 days of hire.

Pay

$25.00 - $37.04 hourly. Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
