About the role

An Activity Sponsor is responsible for supervising and supporting a specific extracurricular club, organization, or activity. This role involves mentoring students, overseeing club activities, and ensuring that all events and meetings are conducted in a safe and organized manner. The Activity Sponsor works closely with students, faculty, and administration to promote student engagement and development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the activities of a specific club or organization, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures.
  • Attend all club meetings, events, and activities.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Serve as a liaison between the club, school administration, and parents.
  • Communicate important information to club members and parents.
  • Promote the club’s activities through school announcements, newsletters, and social media.
  • Lead the planning, organization, and execution of club events, meetings, and activities.
  • Cook up logistics such as scheduling, venue setup, and materials needed.
  • Ensure all events are well-organized and comply with school policy and district regulations.
  • Maintain records of club activities, membership, and achievements.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to student leaders and members.
  • Encourage student participation and foster leadership development.
  • Assist students in setting goals and planning activities.
  • Aid in managing the budget for the club or activity.
  • Oversee fundraising activities and ensure proper allocation of funds.
  • Maintain accurate, transparent financial records and submit necessary reports.

Requirements

Minimum Education Or Formal Training: Education or advanced training with relevance to the club/activity strongly desired.

Essential Environmental Demands

Depending on the activity and school setting, there may be:

  • Mild to moderate or louder noise
  • Potential exposure to weather conditions, variable temperatures
  • Typical school classroom / office / gymnasium or outdoor lighting and facilities

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Lifting of ten (10) or more pounds
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching
  • Repetitive movement

Benefits

This position is eligible for voluntary 401(k), 403(b) and 457 retirement plans. This position is also eligible for paid sick time.

Pay

Minimum Hire Rate: $0.01 USD
Maximum Hire Rate: $5,000.00 USD
Full Salary Range: $0.01 USD - $10,000.00 USD

This position is a Seasonal Primary Location: Highlands Ranch High School One Year Only (Yes Or No): No Scheduled Hours Per Week: 0 Fte: 0.00 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: 0 Work Days (260 days indicates a year-round position. Time off [or Off-Track Days] are then granted based on the position. Any exceptions to the normal off-track time will be noted in the Additional Position Details section above, as scheduled work days.)
