Activity Leader / DSP / Caregiver

About the role

We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team at The Threshold Incorporated as Activity Leaders / DSP / Caregivers. Our mission is to Create Opportunities to Enrich Lives through various programs and activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide clients with the instruction of all program, recreation, social, and community program activities.
• Absorb clients' needs and interests to plan activities accordingly, given the available equipment or facilities.
• Assess clients' progress for each client assigned to team or program.
• Manage the daily operations of recreational facilities.
• Administer first aid according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary.
• Complete and maintain time and attendance forms and inventory lists.
• Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
• Direct special activities or events, such as aquatics, gymnastics, or performing arts.
• Schedule maintenance and use of facilities.
• Conduct individual in-room visits with residents.
• Develop treatment goals for individuals based on their assessments.
• Evaluate staff performance, recording evaluations on appropriate forms.
• Take residents on community outings.

Qualifications

• No experience required - only a passion for our mission.
• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay

$15 + hourly

Schedule

Monday - Friday. 35 hours per week (8:00 am to 4:00 pm).
