Responsibilities
- Administer all activities functions as they relate to group and individual Plans of Care for Senior LIFE
- Supervise and train activities staff
- Manage all activities-based project assignments, including program execution on time and on budget
- Develop and execute therapeutic programs centering on social and recreational activities, focusing on the unique needs of the elderly population
- Ensure a safe, positive environment for all members and activities department staff
- Align activities staff with the interdisciplinary care plan approach and serve as a key voice on these teams
- Provide individualized support and assistance for members requiring additional care during activities and programming
- Conduct ongoing inspections and audits of activities, recreational spaces, and equipment to ensure compliance with center, state, and federal mandates
- Manage and oversee administrative functions for the department, including relevant documentation to medical records
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain compliance with industry-wide protocols and keep Senior LIFE’s activities program competitive
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a social or recreational role specifically centered on the elderly community
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a team-based setting
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and implement new practices and procedures
- Desire to effect positive change within an underserved community
- Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation (some travel to members' homes is required)
