Responsibilities

  • Administer all activities functions as they relate to group and individual Plans of Care for Senior LIFE
  • Supervise and train activities staff
  • Manage all activities-based project assignments, including program execution on time and on budget
  • Develop and execute therapeutic programs centering on social and recreational activities, focusing on the unique needs of the elderly population
  • Ensure a safe, positive environment for all members and activities department staff
  • Align activities staff with the interdisciplinary care plan approach and serve as a key voice on these teams
  • Provide individualized support and assistance for members requiring additional care during activities and programming
  • Conduct ongoing inspections and audits of activities, recreational spaces, and equipment to ensure compliance with center, state, and federal mandates
  • Manage and oversee administrative functions for the department, including relevant documentation to medical records
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain compliance with industry-wide protocols and keep Senior LIFE’s activities program competitive

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a social or recreational role specifically centered on the elderly community
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a team-based setting
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and implement new practices and procedures
  • Desire to effect positive change within an underserved community
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation (some travel to members' homes is required)
