Activity Assistant - Part Time
About the role
The Wealshire is an assisted living specializing in memory care, currently seeking Part Time Activity Assistants/Life Enrichment Aides at our Bloomington Community.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Director of Life Enrichment by leading various resident group activities.
- Prepare and clean up rooms, equipment, and supplies before and after each program.
- Conduct one-to-one programs with residents who are low functioning.
- Care for bird aviaries on Tuesday’s and Saturday’s or as instructed by the Life Enrichment Director.
- Keep supplies and equipment neat, organized, and properly stored.
- Assist and help feed residents during meal times as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- One plus (1+) year of experience as an Activity Assistant, preferred.
- Experience in Long-Term Care and Memory Care, preferred.
- Musical or Artistic abilities is a PLUS, but not required.
Essential Duties
- Lead small, medium, and large resident group activities under the guidance of the Director of Life Enrichment.
- Ensure all rooms, equipment, and supplies are prepared and cleaned up before and after each activity.
- Conduct individualized programs for residents who require one-to-one attention.
- Maintain and care for bird aviaries on designated days.
- Organize and store supplies and equipment in a manner that is accessible and tidy.
- Support residents during meal times as necessary.

Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday rotation. Shifts are from 7:45am to 4:00pm or 11:45am to 8:00pm.
