Job Responsibilities
- Work directly under the supervision of the Activity Director to organize, direct, and execute a well-balanced activity program.
- Diversify the program to meet the varying needs of residents based on age, background, physical limitations, interests, mental capacity, etc.
- Select appropriate programs for residents on the One to One program (e.g., crafts, table games, service projects, intellectual activities, etc.).
- Balance small, medium, and large group activities, as well as programs across different floors and the central activity room.
- Balance recreational, intellectual, religious, and community-oriented programs.
- Lead evening and weekend programs as directed by the Activity Director.
- Record daily resident participation in activities and chart residents' progress quarterly or more often as needed.
- Formulate individual goals for each resident in collaboration with all departments (nursing, dietary, etc.), attending patient-care conferences as directed by the Activity Director.
- Attend in-service classes and workshops, both within and outside the facility, and participate in departmental conferences as directed by the Activity Director.
- Contact each new resident to introduce them to available activity opportunities.
- Aid in forming the monthly activity schedule and evaluating all programs.
- Prepare daily materials and supplies needed for programs and inform the Activity Director about supplies required for upcoming programs.
- Coordinate activities to avoid conflicts with other departments and to support their schedules.
