About the role

Trinidad Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll help create engaging and meaningful experiences for our residents while supporting their social, emotional, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate fun, engaging, and therapeutic activities that promote resident well-being, relaxation, and social connection
• Support the Activity Director with assessing residents' interests and developing activities that align with their preferences and care plans
• Help plan and carry out activities, special events, and programs
• Prepare and distribute activity calendars and other communication materials
• Encourage residents to participate while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families
• Document resident participation and activities appropriately
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of job-related experience, preferably in long-term care
• Experience working with seniors is a plus, but other relevant experience is welcome
• Creative, enthusiastic, and dependable
• A positive team player who enjoys connecting with others
• A self-starter who can encourage and motivate residents to participate
• Compassionate and patient with a genuine interest in improving residents' quality of life
• Someone who values individualized care and meaningful connections
