Activity Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activity Assistant to join our dynamic team at Centerville Health and Rehab!

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities, including social events, games, and outings, to promote resident engagement and satisfaction
• Collaborate with the activities director to develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents
• Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encourages socialization and community building among residents
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of activities and services
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) is preferred
• Prior experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting is not specified
• Proven ability to plan and implement activities that engage and enrich the lives of seniors
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
