Activity Assistant

About the role

TerraBella Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Activity Manager for our community at TerraBella Indian Trail. The ideal candidate will lead and implement a comprehensive memory care program, provide emotional and physical support to residents, and ensure a safe and engaging environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs, schedules, and facilitates Memory Care programs incorporating Life Skills and dementia-appropriate activities.
• Collaborates with the Memory Care Director to ensure a variety of activities are available and staff are engaged.
• Compiles, coordinates, and executes a comprehensive program of activities to meet diverse resident interests and capabilities.
• Provides ongoing in-service education to Memory Care staff on disease processes and population needs.
• Reviews resident preferences and needs before move-in, educating Care Managers accordingly.
• Facilitates the Service Plan and Daily Assignment Sheet to ensure high-quality service delivery, safety, hydration, and resident engagement.
• Acts as a champion for Memory Care programming and activities.
• Collaborates with dining services to meet individualized resident needs and preferences.
• Monitors resident changes in condition and reports to the nurse.
• Establishes relationships with local Alzheimer's Association chapters or other advisory organizations.
• Develops specific programming and approaches tailored to residents with Alzheimer's or related dementia diagnoses.
• Cultivates a therapeutic environment focusing on first impressions and resident engagement.
• Strives for excellent quality care and service delivery, developing and implementing corrective actions for identified deficiencies and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of current and evolving state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to residents and ensures compliance.

Qualifications

• One (1) year dementia care experience.
• One (1) year in a leadership role.
