About the role

The Activity Assistant assists the Resident Programs team in leading and executing resident programs for the community. Programs should engage all the senses and provide purposeful daily social and physical events that meet state requirements. The role includes transportation, support to the Program Director, and daily implementation of resident activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing exercises, social, recreational, and educational events.
• Conducts all transportation as well as medical transportation for residents.
• Maintains knowledge of local communities, services, and events to incorporate into the activity schedule.
• Establishes a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Promotes teamwork and a positive attitude among staff; monitors and attends activities with other disciplines as necessary.
• Continually evaluates the quality and consistency of activities for residents and makes adjustments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school degree; additional college experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
• Must have a clear and insurable driving record, current driver’s license, and willingness to drive a passenger van.
• Must be 21 years of age with a clean driving record (no infractions for the last two years).

Pay

$17–$20 per hour.

Schedule

• Full-time, day shift, including rotating every other weekend.
• Part-time, varying hours, including rotating every other weekend.
