Essential Functions
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading meaningful activities tailored to residents living with memory loss.
- Encourage participation through patience, creativity, and genuine engagement.
- Escort residents to on-site and community events as assigned.
- Help register residents for activities, programs, and special outings.
- Carry out activities under the guidance of the Resident Program Director.
- Maintain and organize activity supplies, including purchasing items as needed.
- Assist in surveying and interviewing residents to discover interests and measure satisfaction.
- Observe residents and share relevant information with care team members.
- Follow departmental budget guidelines.
- Attend required training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings.
- Promote a safe, positive, and professional environment for residents, families, and co-workers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
- Previous long-term care experience required; memory care experience strongly preferred.
- 6 months-1 year of experience leading or assisting with activities in a senior living or healthcare setting.
- Ability to take initiative and lead activities when the Activities Director is unavailable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with individuals with cognitive, physical, or sensory challenges.
- Moderate physical activity required (lifting up to 25 lbs, standing/walking up to 4 hours per day, bending/stooping).
- Must be comfortable using computers and supporting documentation as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required.
