About the Role
Supports the Activity Director or Assistant Activity Director with facilitation of activity programs designed to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. Helps create an engaging environment that fosters a strong sense of community and belonging.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates activity programs as planned to meet the functional levels, needs, and interests of each resident.
- Assists residents to and from activity programs and outings as scheduled.
- Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
- Completes appropriate records indicating residents’ attendance and participation in individual and group activities in a timely basis.
- Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of residents' participation when requested.
- Communicates residents’ concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.
- Supports residents' individual needs, preferences, customary routines, concerns, and choices.
- Assists with escorting residents to and from activities.
- Assists and works with individual volunteers and volunteer programs at the request of the Activity Director.
- Cleans equipment and materials used for activities.
- Participates in long-term care survey process, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous experience in activities, recreation therapy, and long-term care preferred.
- Computer skills are required.
- Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.
