Key Responsibilities
- Aid in creating and executing activity calendars tailored to residents' needs.
- Lead various activities including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, outings, and social events.
- Incentivize resident participation and foster a welcoming environment.
- Transport or accompany residents to activities, ensuring their safety.
- Help prepare and maintain event spaces, decorations, and documentation.
- Keep track of attendance, document activities, and record progress notes.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, volunteers, and families to support individual care plans.
- Create personalized activity plans considering residents' cognitive and physical abilities.
- Maintain vigilance during activities, reporting any changes in residents' condition to relevant staff.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in an activities or recreation role in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- A compassionate and patient demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills is essential.
- A creative, energetic, and organized approach with a positive attitude is valued.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
- The capacity to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with resident mobility is necessary.
- Flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
- CPR/First Aid certification is recommended.
- A background check and meeting all facility/state health requirements are mandatory.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- The ability to assist with physical tasks during activities and resident care.
