Activity Aide

About the role

Responsibilities

• Affirm and foster meaningful and purposeful lives for residents through organized and participatory activity programming.
• Create environments that emphasize joy, independence, and wellness.
• Design programs to promote socialization and enhance daily living skills.
• Document individual participation and the value of approaches in the medical record.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and emotional needs of residents.
• Prepare and maintain reports on resident's progress.
• Ensure activity areas are safe and well-maintained.
• Generate enthusiasm to encourage and motivate participation.

Requirements

• Preferably has Activity Aide or relevant work experience.
• A passion for working with people.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Problem-solving skills.
• The ability to remain calm and adapt to changing situations.
• The ability to work under stress while remaining caring and kind.
• The ability to understand and work in a variety of situations in a positive and constructive manner.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Musical / arts & crafts experience preferred.
