Responsibilities
- Absorb resident attendance, mood, behavior, and level of engagement to evaluate facility activities and resident progress.
- Note, report, and chart resident behavior as part of the evaluation process.
- Involves residents or their families in planning activity programs when feasible.
- Interviews residents or family members to gather activity-related information.
- Participates in community planning that aligns with the interests of the facility and the needs of residents and families.
- Enforces and adheres to activity policies and procedures as directed by the Activity Director.
- Collaborates with residents and families to set objectives and goals for the resident.
- Serves as a supervisor for the volunteer program.
- Provides exceptional ADL care to residents, including vital signs monitoring, feeding, toileting, bathing, and oral care.
- Documents all treatments provided, refusals, reasons for non-provision of treatment, and progress notes as required.
- Promotes and practices infection control procedures.
- Reports any changes in residents to licensed nursing staff.
- Assists other staff members as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience with activities, particularly in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with others.
- A certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Tennessee.
- Preferred previous long-term care experience.
