Responsibilities

• Absorb resident attendance, mood, behavior, and level of engagement to evaluate facility activities and resident progress.
• Note, report, and chart resident behavior as part of the evaluation process.
• Involves residents or their families in planning activity programs when feasible.
• Interviews residents or family members to gather activity-related information.
• Participates in community planning that aligns with the interests of the facility and the needs of residents and families.
• Enforces and adheres to activity policies and procedures as directed by the Activity Director.
• Collaborates with residents and families to set objectives and goals for the resident.
• Serves as a supervisor for the volunteer program.
• Provides exceptional ADL care to residents, including vital signs monitoring, feeding, toileting, bathing, and oral care.
• Documents all treatments provided, refusals, reasons for non-provision of treatment, and progress notes as required.
• Promotes and practices infection control procedures.
• Reports any changes in residents to licensed nursing staff.
• Assists other staff members as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience with activities, particularly in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with others.
• A certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Tennessee.
• Preferred previous long-term care experience.
