About the role
Seeking a PRN / fill-in Activities Assistant with flexibility to work both weekdays and weekends. Ideal shift hours are 10 am – 3 pm with some flexibility. Additional $1.25/hour for weekend hours.

Responsibilities
- Improve quality of life for patients/residents by providing meaningful one-on-one and group activities and interventions.
- Administer the monthly activity calendar, incorporating resident input and ensuring compliance with state-required activities (music, crafts, spiritual activities).
- Keep activities well-organized and upbeat.
- Participate in activities to support optimal functioning while maintaining dignity and identity.
- Assist with simple nursing procedures and transport patients/residents.
- Complete Minimum Data Set (MDS)/EPIC documentation.
- Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness.
- Follow written and verbal instructions under close supervision.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Develop and motivate team members through leadership.
- Work effectively with strong-willed patients/residents and behavioral issues.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Prioritize tasks and work autonomously.
- Plan and oversee resource utilization and work processes.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in social services or creative activities preferred.
- Experience in geriatrics preferred.
- Knowledge of working with diverse resident demographics.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or enrollment in a healthcare-related program preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (training provided if not already certified).
- Must obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle report required (role classified as a Sanford Category I or II Driver).
- Must meet medical qualifications for driving per Sanford Driving Policy.
Pay
Salary range: $16.50 – $22.50 per hour.
