About the Role

Support and assist the Life Enrichment Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing a wide variety of multi-level meaningful recreational and educational programs for Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL) neighborhoods.

Assist with developing, planning, and implementing a monthly program of activities and supplies based on the dimensions of wellness (Movement & Motion, Curiosity & Culture, Feelings & Fellowship, Clarity & Purpose, Compassion & Connection, and Leadership & Volunteerism), Harmony signature programs, and person-centered interests.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 6-7 high-quality programs per day.
  • Assist in surveying and interviewing residents to complete the Resident Life Profile and determine their past and present interests, talents, and satisfaction with the community’s programs.
  • Partner and coordinate with the program team (LED, HSD, & HS assistant) to complete planning forms, organize supplies, and plan calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.
  • Develop relationships with residents and families to encourage participation in programs and promote satisfaction.
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining all required records.
  • Assist in organizing and attending resident council meetings.
  • Organize, maintain, and stage programming areas and supplies neatly.
  • Assist in recruiting, coordinating, and overseeing a robust volunteer program.
  • Promote programs by preparing and posting daily notices and posters.
  • Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment for scheduled activities and return areas to normal afterward.
  • Assist in resident transportation for groceries, shopping, leisure activities, and other resident needs; occasionally transport residents to physician appointments as directed.
  • Assist in off-site outings for residents, providing transportation and safe coordination for participants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or experience; subject to state requirements.
  • Entry-level position with 1-3 years of experience highly desired.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexible, consistent, imaginative, engaging, and passionate about working with seniors.
  • Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good physical condition; ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
