About the Role

The Life Enrichment Activities Assistant supports and assists the Life Enrichment Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing a wide variety of multi-level meaningful recreational and educational programs for Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL) neighborhoods.

Assists with developing, planning, and implementing a monthly program of activities and supplies based on the dimensions of wellness (Movement & Motion, Curiosity & Culture, Feelings & Fellowship, Clarity & Purpose, Compassion & Connection, and Leadership & Volunteerism), Harmony signature programs, and person-centered interests.

Responsibilities

  • Leads 6-7 high-quality programs per day.
  • Assists in surveying and interviewing residents to complete the Resident Life Profile and determine their past and present interests, talents, and satisfaction with the community’s programs and activities.
  • Partners and coordinates with the entire program team (LED, HSD, & HS assistant) to complete planning forms, organize supplies, and plan calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.
  • Develops relationships and connections with residents and families to encourage participation in programs and events and promote a high level of resident and family satisfaction.
  • Assists in documenting and maintaining all records as required.
  • Assists in organizing and attending resident council meetings.
  • Assists in organizing, maintaining, and staging programming areas and supplies neatly and purposefully.
  • Assists in recruiting, coordinating, and overseeing a robust volunteer program.
  • Assists in promoting programs by preparing and posting daily notices and posters as required.
  • Assists in arranging chairs, tables, and sporting or exercise equipment for scheduled group or one-on-one activities and returning areas to normal structure afterward.
  • Assists in resident transportation for groceries, shopping, leisure activities, and other resident activities. May occasionally transport residents to physician appointments as directed.
  • Assists in off-site outings for residents, providing transportation and safe coordination for participants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or experience; subject to state requirements.
  • Entry-level position with 1-3 years of experience highly desired.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexible, consistent, imaginative, engaging, and passionate about working with seniors.
  • Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
