Activities Assistant

Shifts: Sundays 8am to 4pm, Tuesdays 1:30pm to 6:30pm. Pay starts at $16.50 per hour. No experience needed — training provided on the job.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement programs designed to meet the interests, mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the residents.
• Ability to teach, direct, and motivate residents into meaningful activities — comfortable leading activities in groups and one-on-one settings.
• Promote resident participation and community involvement through volunteer services; create programs in a manner that is respectful of individual choices.

Requirements

• A genuine interest in meeting the needs of senior residents, including those with memory impairments.
• Possess such attributes as flexibility, patience, and creativity.
• Ability to organize, plan and work autonomously.
• Confident and energetic when leading, teaching, and directing activities for diverse groups of individuals.
• Good verbal and written command of the English language.
