About the role
We are seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our life enrichment team. In this role, you won’t just be "planning events"—you’ll be creating moments of joy, maintaining the dignity of our residents, and ensuring that our facility feels like a vibrant community.
Responsibilities
- Execute a daily schedule of activities including music, arts and crafts, exercise classes, games, and religious services.
- Provide meaningful one-on-one engagement and bedside visits for residents who may be unable to attend group functions.
- Contribute new ideas for monthly calendars that cater to diverse cognitive and physical abilities (including memory care).
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress as required by state and federal regulations.
- Assist in the safe transport of residents to and from activity areas.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move activity equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- Valid Maine Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Computer skills.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a nursing home, assisted living, or memory care setting is a plus, but we are willing to train the right personality.
- CNA certification is a plus but not required.
Skills
- Patient, upbeat, and empathetic toward the elderly and those with dementia.
- Strong communication skills to engage with residents, families, and staff professionally.
- Reliability and consistency; our residents thrive on seeing familiar faces.
Pay
Hourly Rate: $15.25 - $18.25
