About the Role
Responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing, and implementation of social activities for residents in a senior living community.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency
- One year of experience working in gerontology
- Previous activities experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Knowledgeable in evaluating residents' needs
- Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
- Fully flexible and able to work weekends
- Able to drive Company vehicles
- Minimum of 12.0 hours annually of continuing education and training pertinent to the population
- Must meet all health regulations, including TB screening, and pass background checks
Physical Requirements
- Ability to exert up to 40 lbs of force occasionally and/or occasionally lift, carry, push, or move objects, including the human body
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and squatting
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with conducting and planning activities
- Assist with leading and conducting a variety of programming
- Contribute positive, enthusiastic energy
- Promote resident socialization
- Expand residents’ special interests
- Increase residents’ physical activity and continuing education
- Attend and participate in staff training and in-services
- Maintain 12.0 hours of annual continuing education requirement
- Other duties as directed
