Activities Assistant

Job Summary

Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and organized Activities Assistant to enhance the lives of our residents through planned recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities and events for residents, including social programs, exercise classes, and entertainment events
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a warm and welcoming environment
• Cook up and participate in activities, games, and social events to stimulate cognitive and physical abilities
• Collaborate with the therapy team to develop and implement individualized activity plans for residents
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make recommendations for improvements
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and move objects up to 25 pounds
• Careful and patient attitude with a focus on providing excellent customer service
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
